Back about a week ago getting the walls poured
Yay for concrete and progress!
The front with the frost footing that goes down 42"! (that way the "hill" in the back doesn't put too much pressure on the walls and just push the garage out towards the street....darn gravity!
Time to fill in around the walls and get ready for the floor!
The floor is in (as of Friday morning) and the boys have started building! A BIG thank you to all who have helped so far and hopefully more who will with the remainder, we need all of the help that we can get!!
Aaron, Rocky and our neighbor getting down to business......and yes Larry got so serious he took off his leg!
And the third wall goes up!
Good job guys!
Even further, not bad for ONE days work!
They worked their tail off and got a lot of work done. Today they'll be finishing up the walls and building the last front wall where the garage doors will be. I guess we have to buy a laminate beam(?) to go across the front which is something special because of the garage doors that keeps things from sagging. Unfortunately it's ONE large piece which Menards charges $55 just to deliver, so we're trying to borrow a truck from a friend of a friend that we'd be able to hall the beam ourselves. It's supposed to rain this week so hopefully it clears off or misses us all together so we can get this garage DONE!We've been told by many of the neighbors that they've enjoyed watching the progress, and many others drive by and ask if we're building a second house or a garage....yes it's really that big!
