Bad Boudreau......

Well as you all probably know we've all had a bad week, and as it turns out Boudreau has had a terrible week as well.

The first picture is from about a week ago. There's a bunny that has made a little home underneath some scrap wood that's piled in the backyard. Boudreau decided to go after this bunny one day and jam his head into the wood....not so smart....
It actually healed quite well and he was A-OK to go hunting with the boys in South West Iowa for the long weekend trip until this happened....

Aaron was taking him for a walk on Thanksgiving morning since we were going to be out of town. Figured why not give him a little bit of exercise before laying around all day. They were doing just fine and being that we live near the bike path and near many open areas we typically let him off of his leash to run until we spot others. Aaron had spotted another couple with a black lab off in the distance, told Boudreau and he minded....until running behind a tree and BOLTING over to say hello to these friendly neighbors. Turns out they weren't so friendly as Boudreau in all of his excitement got mistaken for an attack dog which then got attacked! Aaron heard a "yalp" and then Boudreau came bolting back for Aaron.

We didn't really know why until later when we found matted hair on his neck. Below is Boudreau the day after he got bit with a VERY swolen neck!
I knew that something was wrong when I woke up Saturday morning and he wasn't interested in his breakfast. Boudreau LOVES to eat.....so this was a big red flag.
Owie.....hopefully he learned his lesson, but I highly doubt it. Well $162 later we have antibiotics and anti-inflammatory meds later he's on his way to a full recovery. He'll just have to regrow some hair under his neck first.
