Well yet another weekend has come and gone oh so quickly. I think that we just try to pack way too much into 2 little days so it's over before it even seems to start, or so it feels anyway.
Madison had another exciting weekend at Grandma and Grandpa Schuett's house which is enjoyed by all. Madison gets her daily bath and fewer naps which she is apparently ok with as long as someone is there with her at all times. The cats have all learned that a baby = hide until she's gone or napping and grandma and grandpa I think figured out why a weekend without her is so great, you don't' get anything done! 1 because she's so cute you just want to play with her, 2 because it's really hard to keep her entertained at this age when your vacuuming or trying to do dishes. She also learned that she likes scrambled eggs which I'll have to make for her as they are easy and good for her!
Aaron and I had quite the eventful weekend. We decided that with our Colorado trip inching closer and closer we needed to get some snowboarding practice in as I haven't been in two years and Aaron hasn't' been since last year. We went out to a little place that's about 20 minutes away and was only $13 on Friday afternoon from 5-10. We go there about 5:30-6ish and stayed until about 9:30. We were officially the old farts on the slopes as most there were between.....14-18 but it was still a blast. Aaron fell down twice and I only had one major ski lift collision with him where he took me out which ended up being far more painful for me than it was for him. All in all it was a really good time. I wish that we hadn't of waited so long to go as the rain is ending the skiing season and I want to go more now!
Saturday I started taking apart the bathroom to paint. I've had the paint for 2-3 months now and have never gotten around to painting so I started that. After taking all of the towel racks down and the shower curtain and all of that good stuff I started to realize that the walls needed a bit of sanding to make it look better once it was done. I started on that task and Aaron worked on the garage with his dad to get everything finally ready for the building inspector. I also went and picked up our pictures from Madison's photo shoot at Penny's and picked up my new glasses which I desperately needed as the only pair I had was about 8 years old and sooo not the right prescription! We had church at 4:30 (I worked nursery and Aaron worked registration for the kids) and then after we enjoyed dinner with friends at Famous Dave's. It was a great day.
Sunday brought on the paint. I was ready and it actually went a little faster than I had thought. I caught a bit of a cold and was soar from my skiing wipe out but got it all done and boy does it look nice. I cleaned up the trim which was not done very well previously, cleaned up some crazy caulk on the vanity that had gotten smeared all over when installed, cleaned off all of the paint on the hardware since they "tried" to paint around it the last time it was painted (didn't go well) and now we have a wonderfully clean blue bathroom. I took the hardware off of the cabinets and will stop at Lowe's with Madison after work to get some new of those as they were brass and every thing else was silver and then I'll have to post a picture for you.
I still desperately need to do laundry as I didn't have time for that and I was sooo pooped from the weekend I couldn't even begin to start it. Aaron (bless his heart) helped unload and load the dishwasher, and then unload and load it again so we're good on the dishes part leaving more time for laundry tonight. I've got a pot roast in the oven so we're good to go for dinner tonight!
I hope that all is well with you and I don't know about you but I'm sure starting to think it looks like spring out!
