December hates computers month

Hello friends and family!!

You guys have no idea how much I have MISSED the computer! As you can see by the extreme lack of posts this month, we haven't exactly been lucky as far as the computer goes......

Here's the story.....

So we moved in and simply plugged in our old Internet router at the new house and voiola Internet! We had been working with Media Com to get them to come and "install" the Internet at our house (even though it already worked) because they wanted us to...whatever. Anyway the would randomly stop by when Aaron and I were no where near the house and we never seemed to be around when they'd stop by....(the Internet worked anyway so who cared right!) Wrong...well they sent us a bill for $140 saying that we'd stolen their router and we owed them money. Aaron promptly called Media Com and after being on hold for a while explained the situation. The would send some one in the next day or so and call before they came over. They also promptly ended our Internet access somehow so it looked like they did something when they came over...Well one day went by, then two, then three and still no Internet guy. Aaron tried calling on Sunday (the third day, and after being on hold for 45 minutes, we gave up.) We had enough of running in circles with them and started looking at other Internet options...

We decided to go with Quest who several friends and family use and you pay half the price! Good deal right...so we get the things that we need, bring up the Internet and boom! It works! Dad gets online....Aaron gets online twice...and then it's FINALLY MY TURN after almost a week without Internet! (I was having withdrawals). Well the Internet wouldn't come up....no problem just restart the computer, let it re-adjust itself and it would work right....? WRONG! Computer won't even turn itself back on...."Uh ohhh....." Well dad finally brings it back up in safe mode (after almost an hour) and there is obviously a very big problem....luckily we are able to back up all of my files and pictures and save them somewhere else.

Turns out Aaron somehow got a very terrible virus from Myspace that completely wiped out my poor college computer...she was 6 years old but she still worked like a charm! I now have to make sure that I have the right disks to bring it back up, but I have to completely wipe out the computer and start from scratch to rebuild the hard drive...ugh. Thank goodness I hadn't gotten rid of the "30 year old" free computer that my uncle had given me years ago. She is slower than a snail and doesn't work very well, but HEY "HERE I AM ON THE INTERNET!!!"

There's no way I'll be able to upload pictures (they would overload this old thing) but I'll be able to write and say hello which I've missed oh so dearly!
