Paper Party!

Well I guess more like removing paper party! So we (I) finally decided that it's time for the country kitchen wallpaper to go and boy am I glad that we decided to do that. Aaron's never really been a fan I guess and now that the wallpaper is coming down our kitchen feels SO MUCH BIGGER! Granted I never did completely hate the design, it just wasn't something I would have kept and something that I defiantly never fell in love with. I also never realized that unless you KNOW WHAT YOU'RE DOING when you put wallpaper up, you can do it wrong! If you put too much glue on or add the boarders before the main part has dried, mold starts to grow which is NO good especially in your kitchen!
If you click on the above picture all of the dark spots on the wall are definitely not decorative, it's mold. All through the center of the wall where the center boarder was right under the frame, and then along the ceiling where the top boarder was. ICK!

I started on Monday and got the whole entry way done, Tuesday I got from the center of the door by the oven all of the way around the fridge to the middle of the door to the dining room, and last night I got done from that door all of the way over past the sink and windows to the counter by the oven! I'm really making progress. I just thought of another decorative element that I want to add that will really pack in a decorative punch for very low cost. I want to take some wood molding and turn it upside down so it filishes off the cabinet tops. I can't WAIT for it to start to look better instead of increasingly under construction.

Tonight is my night off since Gray's Anatomy is on, and I need to get Madison packed for her weekend with Great Grandma Schuett. Well hopefully I'll get the walls primed soon and then get some paint up. I'll then start on the cabinets, get the new handle pulls, new hinges for the cabinet doors, the top moulding for the upper cabinets, and start looking at glass block for the backspash of color.

I can't wait!

Thanks for stopping by

Sarah
