Green thumbers tutorial

Since a few of you have asked about the trendy farming I posted a few days ago I thought I'd post an updated shot of my wheat and give a few more directions for those of you who may not have the greenest thumbs! It's really SO EASY that anyone can get this stuff to grow. I went to the grocery store and found a bag of organic red wheat over in the health foods section. I decent sized bag was less than $4 and if you want to look up some recipes later you can eat it if you want! Anyway you'll find a cute pot that can hold some water. My pot as you'll see has the water catch ring towards the bottom to help with that. Fill your pot with some potting soil and set aside. You'll take a handful of your seed and fill a bowl with water. Soak your seeds over night and place in your pretty pot on top of the dirt the next morning (it's really that easy). I gave my seeds a good water to start off with and then to cheat from watering every day I just placed my whole pot into a small thing of water so it could drink when it wanted. Place it in a sunny window or just near some good light and watch it grow! Again it only took a few days to get pretty full. You'll have to ask Aaron how excited I was each day to see how much it grew. Mine has already had a haircut which gave the nice smell of fresh cut grass. Enjoy and good luck! Sarah
