What to do next......

Well as you guys know the kitchen is now finished and I'm just loving every second of it. I still need to repaint all of the window and floor trim, and probably paint the ceiling (but I'll get to that someday soon (maybe this week as it shouldn't take long and I've already got the paint)). I've been pondering my next project as home improvement makes me oh so happy and it gives me something to do. Win win right? Here's a few ideas I've been pondering from the awesome blogs that I follow. One of the girls does this awesome decorative painting and these trees really caught my eye! She also incorporates little birds, butterflies etc which are just so cute. I'm thinking of doing a tree in the corner of the guest room (someday Madison's room) in the corner where the bed is. I think it's just the most amazing focal point and hey if you don't like it down the road just paint over it! I still have a project to make a headboard out of an old door (which they just featured a how to in this month's This Old House magazine) so that may light my fire on that one. This is the cutest little craft project and it fits right in with my design background as they are paint chips. You just adhere them to a magnet and seal it with some glue stuff and wala, adorable fridge magnets!
This one is a little bit more daring but I actually already have the material I'm going to use to make it.
On one of the blogs that I follow they do sell a tutorial on how to make this handsome little bag, but I figure patterning can't be that hard right!?!...well I'm sure going to give it a try anyway. My main goal is to be a cutsey bag that I can bring things to work in. I have access to a fridge so I often bring in groceries to stash in my drawer for the work week so I thought this would be the perfect little tote for the job!

I don't have a picture because well it's in my head, but I want to design a new front to the fireplace someday. I want to frame out the top part above the mantle and then add a pretty casing to frame the actual fireplace. I'm thinking something linear to go with the house. I still want to have an area where i can hang somethings for the mantle as the picture we have up there just isn't suiting me so well anymore. I'd also love to create this cute copy of a Pottery Barn mirror that someone did a tutorial on somewhere.....I think I've also stashed that one in my head, but i think with a mirror above the fireplace it will really open the room up and make it feel bigger which is always a plus.

Well that's about all I have for now. We had a busy little weekend with an Easter Egg hunt and crafting, and who knows what else, but it sure went by quickly. Thank goodness for a 4 day work week and time with family next weekend.

For those of you that live in town, I'm doing a played down birthday for Madison this year. I just COULD NOT think of something to do and here we are 3 weeks away and I've got no plans. Well the new plan is for anyone that wants to come to head to the Niabi Zoo for a birthday zoo trip. She's so into animals I thought she would love every second of it. I am worried about the weather but hey if it doesn't work we'll do a rain check! Anyone is invited, I'm thinking maybe 9:30, I'll think up something for lunch or we could even bring our own lunches or eat there if we want.... (I'll think on that one). Madison goes down for a nap about 1:30ish so I figured the morning would work the best for the birthday girl.

Thanks for stopping by and I'll chat with you soon.
