Flood round two

Here are some pictures from flood round two in the Quad Cities, and from the looks of it this one is either a little bit worse than the last one, or they just weren't as ready this time. There was also a fire right next to Paragon, so I took some pictures from John Deere, of Paragon, of the fire and of the flood. Enjoy.

This picture is at John Deere. There is a big island in the middle of the pond. One of the three large willow trees snapped in half from the large storm that we had Thursday night falling on a very large sculpture that they had air lifted in onto the island.
Flooding downtown.
Needless to say River Drive was named very well and is very closed right now.....again.
The Figge Art Museum is actually wet this time....
PPoor little hot dog stand, it has been there since the 50's or 60's though I think....a previous flood went all of the way up to the red overhang roof.
Aaron with the barge holding the casino in place so it doesn't float away....
The casino is very closed....First view at the fire. Second red building on the left.
A little bit closer. This is right behind Paragon's parking lot and right next to the infamous Front Street Brewery. The fire was so hot it broke out all of the windows and burned through the roof.
The wall of dirt that was keeping us from swimming.
A view from standing on a big cement sign looking over the mud wall to the flooded waters on the other side.
I almost fell off so Aaron came to my rescue. Thanks Hunny!
Here's my work building (that I don't work at) but whom I am hired by. They are on the top floor directly in front of the parking lot. They bought the building, totally renovated it and it's absolutely beautiful inside with all of the old brick walls. They are pumping some water out of the basement which is why the parking lot is all wet.
Flood of June 2008.

Bring on more rain since severe storms are just coming into town. Wahoo. Poor Cedar Rapids, Waterloo, and Iowa City.
